Intentional Giving

The Basque Museum & Cultural Center, along with Boiseko Ikastola relies on grants, memberships, and gifts as some of our main income. We appreciate any donation, large or small as they all significantly help us serve our mission to preserve, promote, and perpetuate Basque history and culture. Below are some ways to support the Basque Museum & Boiseko Ikastola throughout the year and long-term. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

All donations are tax-deductible to the legal limit. (Non-profit tax ID 82-0401368). Idaho residents can also qualify for an Idaho Tax Credit as the Basque Museum is recognized as a qualified Idaho educational entity. Contact your financial advisor or financial institution for most recent rules, regulations, and for specific questions.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Check with your employer.

 Qualified Charitable Distribution

As you review your IRA-required minimum distributions and ways to minimize their impact on your taxes this year, a worthy strategy to consider is making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) for the current tax year. The QCD provision permits taxpayers who are at least age 70½ to make tax-free distributions directly from an IRA or a Roth IRA to a qualified charity. The donation is limited to $100,000 per person (married taxpayers filing jointly may exclude up to $100,000 donated from each spouse’s own IRA), and it may be used to partially or fully satisfy the taxpayer’s required minimum distribution for the current tax year.

Reoccurring Contributions

If you are interested in giving more often, but do not want to add another to-do item to your calendar, let us know. We can store your credit/debit card number (securely!) and run it for any amount you set at any time you prefer.

Event/Program/Other Sponsorships

Winefest, the benefit dinner, education programs, Ikastola, exhibits, and more include sponsorships that will not only benefit your family or organization (free/discounted tickets, special recognition, etc.), but also greatly assist the Museum and Ikastola in continuing their mission in a unique way. Contact Annie at the Basque Museum to learn more.

Estate Planning

Adding a non-profit as a beneficiary to your will is always a thoughtful way of continuing your legacy for an extended period. Though these gifts are not immediate, they often assist in continuing the longevity of the organization, which is an incredibly generous way to be remembered.

12-month memberships are available for as little as $35 per person. Seniors, couples, families and business memberships, ranging from $25 (senior) to $300 (corporate) can also be purchased. You do not need to be Basque to belong! for more information.

If you or someone you know have lost a loved one, or would like to honor someone in a special way, consider donating in their memory or honor. These donations are listed in our newsletter and assist the museum greatly in general operations, special projects, and many other ways.
