Pilota Camp

2023 Summer Pilota Camps

The Basque Museum & Cultural Center is excited to offer two Pilota Camp sessions this summer at the Anduiza Fronton. Children will learn to play handball through different activities with two professional pilota players from the Basque Country, Naroa Agirre and Lur Ziarrusta. This year we’ve collaborated with the Munduko Pilota Batzarra (World Pilota Association) and North American Basque Organizations in order to bring these wonderful instructors to Boise.

The first camp, held July 10-14, will have a morning session for kids ages 8-11 from 9:00-11:00am, and another for kids ages 12-16 from 11:30-1:30pm.

The second camp will lead up to Udaleku and will be held from July 17-19. Once again, kids ages 8-11 have a session from 9:00-11:00am, while those ages 12-16 will attend from 11:30-1:30pm.

The 5-day camp cost is $80 per student, whereas the 3-day camp cost is $50 per student. The registration fee includes camp instruction, some snacks, a Pilota Camp t-shirt, and some additional swag. We will be providing all materials (palas, balls, etc.) so there’s no need to purchase anything to attend.

To summarize:

  • July 10-14, 9:00-11:00 am – 8-11 years old ($80)
  • July 10-14, 11:30-1:30 pm – 12-16 years old ($80)
  • July 17-19, 9:00-11:00 am – 8-11 years old ($50)
  • July 17-19, 11:30-1:30 pm – 12-16 years old ($50)

Registration is now open, just fill out the form below. Space is limited to 12 students per camp, so sign up sooner rather than later! Please submit a separate response for each of the students interested. We will be sending you individual invoices alongside consent forms once you’ve filled out the form.

On a related note, we are working on providing adult workshops in the evenings while the instructors are in town. There is a question on the form for those interested in attending.

Please contact me, Edurne Arostegui (edurnea@basquemuseum.eus), with any of your questions.
